Ruthenia to Enjoy Lively Pace and Return to Belmont Park

Ruthenia (7-2) was severely compromised by a moderate pace in her Saratoga finale now returns to her favorite course, one over which she earned her lifetime best Equiform figure and won two of three starts. The Clement barn is firing on all cylinders since leaving Saratoga and should rn down this talented grouup of three year old fillies in the final stages.

Taking Ruthenia to win at 5-2 or greater and key boxing her in muliples with distance loving My Redbyrd (10-1), course loving Divalarious (6-1) and worthy favorite Elusive Pearl (3-1).

Running Totals: (944) 294-191-135 Total Dollar Return: $2,025.10 [win selections only] {Sunday results not included}

Sharp Is as Sharp Does

Legally Blanca (7-2) has trained very well since a good-figure effort in the overnight Jazzy Stakes September 14, a race producing a next out winner from two starters. Her lifetime best effort came on this course and she will appreciate today's conditions, inside draw and added furlong.

Taking Legally Blanca to win at 3-1 or greater and key boxing her in multiples with imported Wallis (12-1) and both members of the Chad Brown trained duo of Forest Crown (5-2) and Evading Tempete (4-1)

Running Totals: (944) 294-191-135 Total Dollar Return: $2,025.10 [win selections only]

Dutrow Takes Champagne Gold

On the road to find out, I've looked at all the big races at Belmont and Keeneland but we're going to talk about the Champagne since these horses will be 3 on New Year's Day (just trying to get WMC's goat here).

Union Rags is the fastest (7-5) and impressive winner of the wet Saratoga Special. Did we say impressive? Alpha (5-2) made a most impressive debut going seven-eighths in fast time in Saratoga with good energy distribution.

However, we're betting Rick Dutrow's Takes the Gold (6-1), for the same people who own Boys At Toscanova, making his very long awaited 3 year old debut in today's opener.

Takes The Gold broke his maiden at this distance, on this track, also with good energy distribution, in fast time and has come back to work very well since. Interesting race not always so cut and dry.

Taking Takes the Gold to win at 9-2 or greater and keying boxing him in multiples with the talented favorites.

Running Totals: (943) 294-191-135 Total Dollar Return: $2,025.10 [win selections only]
