Arch Traveler Should Love This Setup

The Amsterdam Stakes is a highly competitive 6-1/2 furlongs with no shortage of high class gas. The horse with the tactical speed, inside position, a sharp recent work and one who fits the race shape is Arch Traveler (4-1). Given that the Grade 2 marks the return of To Honor And Serve, it would seem that a playable price is assured.

Taking Arch Traveler to win at 7-2 or greater and key boxing him in the exacta with Justin Philip (3-1) and Caleb's Posse (12-1).

Running Totals: (899) 284-182-123 Total Dollar Return: $1,957.70 [win selections only]

Dyna Zaps’em

Today’s Grade 1 Ruffian Handicap features what is, in our view, a highly vulnerable favorite in Payton D’Oro who, while she finished well in her most recent start at Belmont, she had no excuses vs. weaker in prior two-turner.

Super Espresso should improve stretching to the two-turn configuation but it’s Dynazapper (6-1) that’s the most interesting. Her most recent at Belmont was impressive from a visual and figure perspective and her pedigree figures to love this added ground.

Taking Dynazaper to win at 9-2 or greater and keying her first and second in multiples with her rivals here.

Running Totals: (898) 284-182-123 Total Dollar Return: $1,957.70 [win selections only]

A Look at the Jim Dandy My Friends

Two excellent features today but with the storied Travers just one month away, a look at the quintessential prep for the Midsummer Derby, the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes.

When I saw the overnight, I thought the last horse that would interest me was Stay Thirsty (5-2) but upon closer inspection, this is where we land.

The Belmont Stakes represented a breakthrough race for him and today’s route should see that development continue. His tactical speed fits today’s race shape, he’s been training up a storm for this, and he loves the Spa strip, the site of his previous lifetime best effort.

Taking Stay Thirsty to win at 2-1 or greater and boxing him in the exacta with Dwyer winner Dominus (5-2).

Running Totals: (897) 283-182-123 Total Dollar Return: $1,950.70 [win selections only]
