Double Your Fun

Today's FRA brought to you via promotional consideration with http://www.123BET.com

One from column B and one from column C.

Churchill Downs is hosting the G3 Winning Colors for fillies and mares, three and up. Enchanting Lady (2-1), dropping out of consecutive Grade 1, including a third in the Humana Distaff over the track last out, is a worthy favorite and surely will be a tough out.

But we'll take any win value offered on fast working Diva Express (9-2), no price restrictions, the filly that has found a new career and trip specialty. One for eight in all other matters, 4YO Fleet Express filly is 2-for-2 at CD including a recent secondary allowances.

Diva Express should continue flourishing for the Casse barn beneath meet leading riding, Julien Leparoux.

Same story in Belmont's Paradise Creek where Mighty Mo (8-5) will get most of the attention but Too Discreet (4-1), who appeared in need of his recent start, should turn the tables on the favorite.

While not as fast on the Thoro-Graph scale as the Pletcher trainee, this filly is forward looking and is taken to upset this overnighter for Clement/Rosario team. Taking Too Discreet to win at 5-2 or greater and a boxed exacta with the favorite.

Friday Night Flier in Shakopee

In our effort to support the player friendly efforts of Canterbury Park re parimutuel takeout, we looked at tonight's card and saw there was a choice of three feature races.

The three spots have the same top purses of the night and we chose a turf race because it's popular with players, and because I wanted to learn more about the turf racing there.

I also wanted to see if the speed bias that prevailed on dirt opening weekend was still prevalent.

The feature is at once contentious but, having said that, favored Cavu (2-1) rates to be a tough out. He improved immediately off McLean Robertson's claim to win a decent claiming field at Arlington Park with authority. He should transition well to this circuit.

But we're taking any value offered on Foolhardy (15-1). He exits an April 30 race at Fonner Park which already has produced three next out winners.

He now makes his first start under conditions that allow the multiple-winning gelded 6YO to meet limited, albeit faster rivals. If he wins, the payoff will be commensurate with the risk.

Taking Foolhardy to win at 8-1 or greater, an exacta box with Mac's favorite, and we're adding price shots Life a Riley (10-1), Bold Animeaux (8-1) and speedy Sammy's Mineshaft (12-1) to the super-exotics mix.

Number of Selections since 2007: 2032

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 606-394

Amount Wagered: $4,064.00 [$2 to win only]

Beaucoup Bucks in Belmont Feature?

Today's optional NW1 for 3YOs at Belmont is so chock full of good horses the race should come with a name attached and a purse twice the size. Wow!

Headlining the group will be Gift Box (7-5), the horse to beat based on a worthy juvenile season and top figures on both the Thoro-Graph and Pricci Energy scales. And, of course, Chad will have him set for return. However, we're going for the gusto here.

The logical second choice, Gettysburg (3-1), scratched when he drew the extreme outside in a recent under-card stakes event, has found much of a softer spot here. Thus, we're taking valued offered on 8-1 early line American Pioneer.

After running second to Dazzling Gem in debut, he broke maiden going long then suffered chasing a very hot pace in Creator's G1 Arkansas Derby. Back to reality here and note that Catalano's 23% profitable in LAY-3 scenarios.

Taking American Pioneer to win at 5-1 or greater, key-boxing exactas with his rivals here, and adding price shots Dixie Runner (15-1) and Realm (10-1) to the super-exotics mix.

Number of Selections since 2007: 2031

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 606-394

Amount Wagered: $4,062.00 [$2 to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $4,103.50

Profit to Date: $41.50
