North of the Border, Up Canada Way

With the possibility of a wet track everywhere we turned, we’re going north of the border for today’s feature race over Woodbine's Polytrack surface, a full field of preliminary allowance runners sprinting 6-½ furlongs in the seventh race.

Stormin Willie appeared in need of his season’s debut. Four year old gelding now returns in a sprint in a potentially speed-laden group, has been working purposefully, hails from a very live barn that’s effective with second-off-the-layup starters and gets huge rider switch to hot riding Tyler Pizarro for his return to state-bred competition. All sytems go

Taking Stormin Willie to win at 4-1 or greater and key-boxing him in super exotics with Having Said That, Northern Bear, Flim Flam and Reap The Benefit.

Running Totals: (860) 270-176-118 Total Dollar Return: $1,876.70 [win selections only]

Animal Loves R Betty Graybull

If you noted yesterday's races at Monmouth Park, you saw a racetrack that played differently than last year's; it was much kinder to positional speed, which gives R Betty Graybull (5-2) the best chance to win the Monmouth Beach Stakes. The presence of Joe Bravo and the pole certainly doesn't hurt. The filly has Bill Mott's Acronym (3-1) to beat.

Taking R Betty Graybull to win, no price restrictions, and an exacta box with Acronym.

Running Totals: (860) 270-176-118 Total Dollar Return: $1,876.70 [win selections only]

No Substitution for Alternation

If you're looking for just one good reason to back Alternation (6-1) in today's Grade 2 Peter Pan at Belmont Park, seek out a replay of the Arkansas Derby and note how far back this colt was before finishing fifth, beaten 6-1/4 lengths. With Grade 1, 9-furlong experience under his girth plus a switch to Ramon Dominguez, we're all in.

Taking Alternation to win at 9-2 or greater and key boxing him in the multiples with Uncle Brent (4-1) and Prime Cut (9-2).

Running Totals: (859) 269-176-118 Total Dollar Return: $1,867.10 [win selections only]
