Peaches and Green

Today’s Gulfstream feature is a bit of a skull buster, which often happens in turf marathons with horses in various stages of their form cycles.

In today’s 11 furlongs, we’re not sure just how good Doctor Peach (3-1) is but he’s a now horse in excellent form, from a live barn, that can control the tempo throughout. Sometimes it’s just that simple.

Taking Doctor Peach to win at 2-1 or greater and an exacta box with the returning Lignon’s Hero (4-1), from a top layup barn, and the longwinded price shot, Reservoir (8-1).

Running Totals: (800) 257-166-110 Total Dollar Return: $1,781.30 [win selections only]

Tennis Anyone?

One of the variables that makes today’s Gulfstream Park particularly vexing is a lack of definable early pace, turf or no turf race, temporary rail or entire course.

Given the elements of recent form and freshness, the pace, and the win, can come from either; the fresh and classy Doubles Partner (5-1) or the very sharp Guys Reward (7-2).

Of the two, it’s likely that Doubles Partner might fall between the wagering cracks despite the high profile connections. Doubles Partner won its only start on this course and its only start at this distance.

The development shown by the figures earned on those occasions indicate this is a great spot to get the campaign of the newly turned 4-year-old started. He kept good company last year, holding his own, and appears to have the most upside here.

Taking Doubles Partner to win at 4-1 or greater and an exacta box with Guys Reward. Trifecta players can add the other sharpster, Vanquisher (6-1), and the other new 4-year-old, Mystic (4-1), to their mix.

Running Totals: (799) 257-165-110 Total Dollar Return: $1,781.30 [win selections only]
