Keeping the Faith, My Friends

Today's centerpiece Jockey Club Gold Cup is the perfect confrontation; the late developing three year old getting weight from his older rival owning a voctory at the distance vs. an older, faster rivals on performance figures that just might have a special affinity for Belmont Park.

Flat Out (7-5) is a deserving favorite but we believe Stay Thirsty (8-5) will continue to improve and get the money. Taking Stay Thirsty to win with no price restrictions.

Running Totals: (939) 294-191-133 Total Dollar Return: $2,025.10 [win selections only]

Zapp’em Good

Today's Dispute Stakes that attracted six evenly matched females racing a one-turn mile is nothing if not a rider's race. Several of the contenders have versatile style and the jockeys, of course, are world class. We need value in a spot like this and that's why we're reaching out for the Bill Mott trained Dynazapper (5-1).

Following a career best performance figure under similr conditons here at the summer meet, she promptly was overmatch in a Spa Grade 1 then was used hard setting a career best pace, a New Pace Top, going seven-eighths in her upstate finale. Back to her best distance, preferred surface, and with a switch to the barn's go-to rider this season, Jose Lezcano.

Taking Dynazapper to win at 7-2 or greater and key-boxing her in multiples withsurface and distance loving Streak (8-5) and Katy Now (7-2).

Running Totals: (938) 294-191-132 Total Dollar Return: $2,025.10 [win selections only]

Close to the Edge

Have no idea whether today’s Belmont Park feature, a preliminary allowances/optional claiming on the turf at 10 furlongs will remain on that surface. But either way, ship-in Edgewater si simply too much price here at 12-1.

His figures are competitive with the group, his best figures have come when going longer as opposed to shorter routes, he’s 1-for-2 on turf but handles any footing. In fact, a surface switch probably would be to his benefit. Trainer Rodney Jenkins is 26% efficient with shippers and 25% when class dropping.

Taking Edgewater to win at 5-1 or greater and boxing him in the exacta with Cheyenne Nation (2-1) and Point Of Entry.

Running Totals: (938) 294-191-132 Total Dollar Return: $2,025.10 [win selections only]
