I’m Warning You, It’s Paulette

Today’s feature at Tampa Bay Downs for 4 year old up fillies and mares is interesting in that it features a number of talented returnees and one that can provide value coming off the layup.

Don’t understand the enthusiasm for early line favorite Arabian Song (2-1) because while returning off a layup for an outfit quite effective with turf to dirt animals, her numbers and company lines are such that she deserves no discernible edge.

She is in top hands but the extreme outside slip at 7 furlongs could prove problematical.

Paulette Caveat (6-1) just inside her in the starting game is a proven quantity when fresh, raced very well on this strip at the last meet, earning figures that are likely to improve with the added maturity gained.

The barn is a very live 2 for 7 at this meet, is profitable with returning layoff runners, albeit from a small sample, and also is a worthy 3 for 7 going turf to dirt. This filly can finish, as can very solid finisher Pablo Morales.

Taking Paulette Caveat to win at 4-1 or greater and key-boxing her in multiples with the favorite and surface loving Throttle Up (8-1).

Running Totals: (1002) 309-202-142 Total Dollar Return: $2,130.70 [win selections only]

With All Due Respct

Today’s feature race at Gulfstream Park, the Ocala Stakes for fillies and mares at a flat mile, doesn’t look like a lay-down for All Due Respect (2-1), but the Rick Dutrow filly is going to be a very tough out.

She comes in here off a Cyclical Pace Top while returning from a layoff and she’s been training strongly ever since.

Her lifetime best figures have come at 8 furlongs, including her only start on this surface and she gets major class relief dropping from graded stakes company.

She’s won half her four starts at this distance with an exacta finish and attracts Castellano; too many weapons.

Taking All Due Respect to win, no price restrictions, and keying her first and second in multiples with the very sharp Gorgeous Melody (8-1), and prolific winner Sweet Repent (3-1).

Running Totals: (1001) 309-202-142 Total Dollar Return: $2,130.70 [win selections only]
