Today at Parx: A Look at 123bet’s Unique Pick 6

HRI has entered into a promotional relationship with 123.gaming.com in which each Sunday we analyze the six races that comprise their unique Pick 6 contest wager. The current featured track is Parx Racing. The following is a profile of races 4 through 9.

The bet is different from the traditional Pick 6 in that a player gets points for first, second, and third-place finishes (based on pari-mutuel payoffs) by his or her selections in each of the six races.

For example, if a player’s horse finished second, paying $4.00 to place and $3.00 to show, the player would receive 7 points toward his or her total. The player with the highest number of points accumulated during the sequence is declared the winner, collecting 60% of the net pool. The second and third highest-scoring players also get a share — 30% for second and 10% for third.

Sign up to play the wager at 123bet.com, make your selections, and follow the live national leaderboards after each race! And if you complete the Top 10, you get your $2 back.

Today's feature race at Parx is the eighth. With respect to the daily running totals, we're going on record with Kazuri to win, no price restrictions, and an exacta box with Patria Querida.

FOURTH: 2-BELLA FIGLIA (7-2) on and bounce-rebound pattern off top Energy Rating score, makes first start off the Pino claim dropping in class, 20-for-40 in that scenario most recently. 4-Black Lagoon looked good beating weaker last out but up in class and distance. 8-Tina’s Note makes third start off layup for Farro dropping to lowest career level.

FIFTH: 3-TINY PREDICAMENT (5-1) makes first start at reduced level following claim three back dropping properly with starter allowance rivals. 7-DAN’S GOLD (3-1) earned layover Energy Rating when narrowly beaten at 6-1/2 furlongs last out now tries two turns with questionable distance pedigree; mixed signals.

SIXTH: 6-ALISSA R N (5-2) has two good-figure efforts back to back, was claimed and gets promise of live apprentice. 8-KNIGHT SPRING (3-1), also entered with apprentice Ritvo, earned competitive rating in last now drops two classes, a 25% scenario, in second start for Lake.

SEVENTH: 5-OLD FASHIONED SONG (4-1) has been improving incrementally in recent start since claimed by Preciado. 4-HOLD THE WIRE (5-2) has won two straight, was claimed by Lake from last and taps winning partner Vaz for move into starter allowance ranks. 1-WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE (6-1) comes off top Energy Rating score vs. preliminary allowance state-breds and might be very well spotted here.

EIGHTH: 2-KAZURI (5-2) never has taken a backward step in three career starts and drops back in with allowance types following game good-figure placing in recent Penn Natl. stakes. 5-Patria Querida also never has regressed but meets tougher set here.

NINTH: 5-SKY MASTERSON (2-1) placed gamely behind runaway winner when dropped to this level last out; has found likely spot for Farro, profitable with her claiming types.

Suggested Economical Sequence: 2 with 3.7 with 6.8 with 1.4.5 with 2 with 5---$24

BEST UPSET CHANCES:

Race 4: 8-Tina’s Note (5-1)

Race 7: 8-Farmer Jones (8-1)

Race 8: Patria Querida (9-2)

Race 9: 2-Strike Down (15-1)

In Return, Lea Looks Like Too Much Racehorse

Fully realize that the early line favorite in today's featured Hal's Hope hasn't run since this meet ended last winter here but sometimes you just need to play the hand dealt.

Actually, also don't like the fact that that choice, Lea (9-5) has drawn the tricky rail post going a flat mile here but the best horse, a good horse, is supposed to overcome anything thrown his way.

Certainly, he has the top Energy Ratings, has tactical speed, can finish, and loves this track.

Having Bill Mott in your coming coming off a long layup doesn't hurt and while something will be left in the tank for bigger game, he had better be fit enough here if hew wants to handle what's thrown at him in the upcoming Donn, where the Grade 1 competition is certain to be much stiffer.

Taking Lea to win at 6-5 or greater and an exacta box with uber sharp Valid (2-1).

Number of Selections since 2007: 1671

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 500-325

Amount Wagered: $3,342 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,461.20

Profit to Date: $119.20

Give’m the Hammer

Tough one yesterday; turning the page. In today's featured 9th race going 1-1/16 miles on the turf is a layover for Hammers Terror (7-2) if you trust our Energy Ratings which, of course, we do.

He was a top figure winner of his last and a repeat of that effort will spell repeat here. We like the confident class rise and the fact trainer Brian Lynch is 38% efficient with runners seeking to repeat.

Julien takes the return call and we also like the idea that this recent top-figure front-running winner did it in his GP debut and also has been successful from off the pace, albeit at a shorter distance.

Taking Hammers Terror to win at 5-2 or greater and key-boxing exactas with AE Key to Power (15-1), third in that same race, and Just Foolin Around (15-1), also coming off a fast-figure score vs. weaker in his GP return.

Number of Selections since 2007: 1670

Number of Win and Place Finishes: 500-325

Amount Wagered: $3,340 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,461.20

Profit to Date: $121.20
