Run, Shugster, Run

Today's Belmont Park feature is a preliminary allowances for 3-year-old fillies on turf, problematic given the rainy forecast.

Shug McGaughey-trained Run of the River (8-5) should be set either way. An impressive winner of her debut on KEE turf [see replay], there seems to be more in the tank and she has the pedigree to make the transition should the race be rescheduled to the main track. I'm not going to try to force this issue with the probable favorite.

Taking Run of the River to win, no price restrictions, and key boxing in exotics with Irish Score (5-1) and Pink Poppy (5-2).

Number of Selections since 2007: 1544

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 470-295-237

Amount Wagered: $3,088 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $3,182.20

Profit to Date: $94.20
