This Is Queens, Mister

The final Saturday feature of 2013 is for older state-bred males going a mile and a sixteenth in the Alex M Robb Stakes.

One doesn't need an advance degree in handicapping to know that not only is Saratoga Snacks (4-5) an obvious favorite but the most likely winner as well. There are some nice New Yorkers in this event but no one is likely to compare them with the group he met last time out in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile. Besides, he won last year,s Robb.

But what we're hoping is the late developing 3YO gelding Comandante (6-1) will get first run and outrace the favorite to the wire. There's no question he's improved since switched to the Pletcher barn this fall and can make it three straight here coming off a very sharp score at 7F last out.

Taking Comandante to win at 7-2 or greater, an exacta box with the favorite, and adding surface loving Awesome Vision (4-1) to the exotics mix.
