To Wim or Not to Wim…

Today’s Belmont featured 7th race, a NW1/optional claiming, comes down to three primary contenders for us: Bluegrass Springs (3-1), Thomas Hill (4-1) and Hamnet (4-1).

Our preference is for Hamnet, a chance to get a fair price with a Chad Brown turf runner.

Showing versatility with a strong sprint on Poly and a turf route going long, 3YO Shakespeare colt returns with excellent spacing, fitting the dynamics well and with a best of 46 peers work at Oklahoma TT last week. Add Javier Castellano and bet.

Taking Hamnet to win at 2-1 or greater and key-boxing in exactas with winning Rice dropdown Bluegrass Springs, a 3-for-3 scenario, and Thomas Hill, returning to his optimal distance and reuniting with Maragh.

Number of Selections since May, 2007: 1411

Number of Win-Place-Show Finishers: 430-267-214

Amount Wagered: $2,822 [to win only]

Total Dollar Return on Investment: $2,924.00
