Cary Fotias's 'No Limit Handicapping'
In an effort to better serve HRI readers, and not limit Cary Fotias to the California circuit exclusively, Cary will be posting his value plays at whatever track he deems suitable. So be sure to check out his “No Limit Handicapping” column daily.
Cary has been posting his selections at HorseRaceInsider on a semi-weekly basis since 2007. Author and professional horseplayer, a look at his running totals are simply among the most unusual ever for a handicapper posting selections in advance in the public arena.
His cumulative running totals of (44) 15-3-5 as of July, 2009--for a total dollar return of $204.70 based on win selections only--yielded an otherworldly 231% return on investment. This is not the kind of impossible claim you often will see from other handicappers.
Cary's selections and results are easily verifiable, archived on the HRI site for your verification. HRI is very proud to have Cary Fotias as its handicapper in residence.

This Bird’s For You….
No LImit Plays -- 07 June
AP Race 01 AWESOME RICHIE (#3) is 10/1 on the Morning LIne and could take this field all the way. Trainer Larry Rivelli is 32% on the relevant layoff and a sparkling 31% (11/35) at the current stand. In his debut, Awesome Richie ran a competive number for the this field via his 6f turnback number. He goes 2nd time in a maiden claimer and Thorton (who was aboard for the debut) gets the mount.
AP Race 09 COCKADOODLE (#1 Part of Entry) exits a New Pace Top (NPT) and , with Cox's Ridge on the bottom side, has the pedigree to stretch out to today's mile distance. Could be long gone and is 10-1 on the ML..

NO LIMIT PLAYS -- 31 MAY
Churchill Downs Race 09 ART WORLD (#3) looks like a nice claim by Denis Roberson. This 3-year-old filly just edged through her 2-year-old final number top while running a Reversal (REV). She comes back in 10 days at the same mile distance and would be a steal at the 5/1 ML. Bet to win and a small exacta box with Dance With Daddy (#6) who is also off a claim and exits a New Pace Top (NPT).
Hollywood Park Race 06 If not for the outside post, I would make JOB BOSS (#12) a standout in this maiden claiming route. But with the poor draw, I'll need 5/2 to make a win bet. Itlee (#5) has been working Baffert bullets and drops from the MSW ranks off a layoff. Both of these should hit the board and I will box them in the exacta. Also, there are plenty of longshot possibilities on Equiform pattern lines, so I will play the following trifectas. 5,12/5,12/ ALL, 5,12/ALL/5,12 and ALL/5,12/5,12.

Three for the Memories..
NO LIMIT PLAYS -- MAY 24 09
PHA Race 01 CALLING GEORGIA (6/1 ML) exits a New Pace Top (NPT) and could go all the way. Small exacta box with Proud Ale who has some nice internals.
GG Race 07 Skimpy (Baze and Sherman) is sure to take lots of money. I'll go with COUNTY WEXFORD (10/1 ML) off a NPT. Steve Specht is 22% at the meet and Frankie Alvarado remounts.
HOL Race 05 ONE CHIN AGAIN (8/1 ML) is yet another off a NPT. Doug O'Neill trainee has competitive back final numbers and gets switch to Joel Rosario who clicks at a 33% clip (11/33) for O'Neill at the current stand. Could surprise at tricky 7-1/2f distance.
May 24 Results: (3) 2-0-0 Current Running Totals: (35) 10-1-5 Total Dollar Return: $133.90 [win selections only]
