Cary Fotias is the Founder and President of Equiform, a New York City firm that produces The XTRAS and The SHORTS, handicapping products for evaluating current condition and form cycles. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed handicapping book, Blinkers Off, which describes an innovative numerical approach to form-cycle analysis.

After spending eight years as a currency trader on Wall Street, Fotias has spent the last 16 years as professional handicapper. He is a member of the NTRA Players Panel and was chosen to give a presentation to the Ad Hoc Committee on the Future of New York Racing on behalf of New York horseplayers.

Fotias is a vocal proponent of lower takeouts. He also has a strong interest in the cutting-edge concept of betting exchanges and how they might be developed in the U.S. He feels the game would prosper if it would only adapt to the economic and technological realities of the information age.

NO LIMIT PLAYS - 19 July 2009

Belmont Park - Race 04 JUSTIFY (12/1 Morning Line) comes off a DTDL ( Delayed Turf Decline Line) three races back and a New Pace Top (NPT) on a muddy, sealed track in her latest. Her last turf race on May 24 has produced multiple next-out winners and she exhibits a pace pressing style in a race devoid of much early lick. Bet to WIN, back-wheel in excata with the field, and play All/All/Justify tri.

Races 02 and 03 at Big Sandy have solid keys for the Pick-3 ending in Race 04. SUCCESSFUL SCORE goes second-time out for Dale Romans off a nice Compression Line (COMP) and, in the third, TIMBER CRUISE (NPT) will be tough to deny if he gets an honest pace up front. PLAY 7/4/6 Pick-3 for four units and 7/4/All, 7/All/6 and All/4/6 for one unit each..

Cary,
Your selection of Justify who ran 2nd in the 4th at Belmont yesterday was stunning. Justify’s chance to win was compromised by a poorly timed ride. Your ability to disclose an abundance of substantiated hidden form for this longshot places you in a class by yourself. I have never seen anything like it, brilliant. I played the double using Justify to All in the 5th race. When the wheeled half of the double came in at 55-1 I just shook my head and marveled a new at Justify, unbelievable. Wanted you to know that I appreciate your work. I shall also mention that your customer service is 100%. Thank You, Mark.
