Saturday’s feature at Hollywood Park, the Round Table, will be the first race run at 1-3/4 miles in fifteen years at the Inglewood oval. Nine runners will contest this grass event and my nod goes to Runaway Dancer. Although he hasn’t won in two years, this eight-year old has run his best Equiform numbers at marathon distances. He gets the services of Alex Solis and, as he will likely be the betting choice, I will forego a win bet and use him up first and second in exactas and trifectas with Running Free, Storming Away and Spring House.

The finale is a maiden claimer, and I think Almost a Ten (12-1) and Ruthie’s Girl (8-1) respectively on the morning line have nice chances at a price. I will play doubles with the four horses from the feature to these two, pressing with Runaway Dancer.

Should I miss in the eighth race, I will look to bet Almost a Ten and/or Ruthie’s Girl in the ninth race.

Prediction - If anyone finishes under par at Oakmont in the US Open, we will get a Triple Crown winner in 2008.
