For the ladies of the backstretch, has there ever been a year like 2009? Presious Passion was a marvel on firm turf but his trainer had him fit for virtually and entire year. A woman won the training title at Saratoga? Really? And there are plenty of top trainers in South Florida, how did Oâ€™Connell manage that? And while it wasnâ€™t this year, letâ€™s not forget the Pitts-Blasi developed a first time starter named Curlin a few years ago!
