We are pleased that Lynne Snierson’s publicity duties have been completed for last season so that once again she can contribute her wealth of talent and experience to HRI as a staff contributor.
Brendan O’Meara will continue to contribute his editorial talents as well, from the unique perspective that has become his trademark, and we’re pleased to add Tom Jicha as a contributing staff columnist.
Tom has been an editor at major mainstream newspapers and most recently was the TV-Radio columnist and turf writer for the Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel for more than two decades.
In the spring we intend to add a full-time handicapping staffer and, of course, I will continue to contribute the Feature Race Analysis five days per week-and comment on all things racing.
Indulto will continue in his role as horseplayer advocate.
Our intention is to contribute fresh editorial content on our favorite sport each day of the year. And, of course, Marc Lawrence will continue contributing his weekly sports analysis during the football and basketball seasons.
No sports handicapper owns a more detailed data base. We will continue to partner with Cary Fotias, author of the Equiform Energy Figures, sheets-style numbers that present the clearest assessment of equine condition and development possible.
The lead-page posting schedule--unintended interruptions from Internet gremlins notwithstanding--is as follows: Lynne, 12:01 a.m. Monday; Brendan, 12:01 p.m. Tuesday; John, 12:01 a.m. Thursday, and Tom, 12:01 p.m. Friday.
Weekends will be devoted to John's live coverage of major events as well as even more commentary from our staffers.
And, so, as of Friday, expect more features, more commentary, the detailed analysis you’ve come to expect from HRI. Thank you all, fans and practitioners alike, for your loyalty and continued support.

JRP,
Keep up the good work.
Now if only you could get Wendell to keep those picks coming…

Thanks for the encouragement, Nick! I see you’re continuing to rise with the roosters.
Damn, so busy I forgot to bet Wendell’s pick.
Anyway, I’m sure he’ll be pleased to have a few more turf writers to gnaw at.

Mr. Kling: I have never given out what you call a pick at HRI. I have merely asked, on a rare occasion, “think X has a chance in ....No one at HRI to date has ever replied with their opinion.
If you wager on my selections, you are desperate, lack confidence in yourself, and need a long vacation.

Ya all out there should read the article in the New Yorker magazine dated 01/21/13 titled ‘Tasmanian Devil’. You will read about the 3% who are winning at gambling, big time! Note the success the man had when gambling on the ponies.

WMC, unless it was a completely prank, you did give out a “pick” here--think it was at LRL, don’t think it was your beloved Parx.
No matter either way, but you take yourself more seriously than turf writers do. Your friends at the OTB still socialize with you despite your lacking a sense of humor?
Guess the Fosters help.
