Backing Knicks Sunday Would Be Lin-sane
Dallas over NEW YORK by 10
Don’t look now but the defending champs are starting to ‘Get Serious.’ After a lethargic 3-5 start, the Mavericks have won 16 of 22 as of press time and find themselves in an ‘AWESOME’ spot this afternoon as they take on the Knicks in this non-conference road affair.
As it is, the Mavericks have covered 16 of the last 22 in the series and eight of the last nine in front of Spike. And heading into Friday’s night contest in Philly, Cuban’s crew has simply had their way with Eastern Conference foes of late, posting a 19-5 SU and 15-9-1 ATS log.
Furthermore, with all the ‘Linsanity’ surrounding New York, the Knicks are once again front and center of the NBA world – which is exactly where we want them (i.e. over-inflated lines). This latest phenomenon also begs the question: is Jeremy Lin the real deal or another one-hit wonder like Mark ‘The Bird’ Fidrych or Buster Douglas (Kung Fu Fighting)?
The feeling here is some of those answers will be revealed today in the national
spotlight where the Mavs, by the way, are a long-term 103-73-3 ATS on Sundays, including 15-6 ATS as dogs versus sub .500 opposition (applies if Knicks should lose to New Orleans on Friday).
And while we realize going against Lin is a ‘little bit frightening’, these numbers leave us no choice but to back the visitors. Let’s just hope the Mavs come out ‘fast as lightning.’
