BROKEN DREAMS, GOMEZ RALLY TO WIN GRADE III MADDY
ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2012)—Although it looked a bit hopeless a furlong from home, Garrett Gomez and Broken Dreams persevered and managed to collar pacesetter Kindle close home to successfully defend their title by a half-length in Saturday’s Grade III Senator Ken Maddy Stakes going 6 ½ furlongs on turf at Santa Anita.
Kindle, who shot to the lead at the top of the hillside course and set blistering fractions of 20.97, 42.53 and 1:05.30, was five lengths clear of Broken Dreams when crossing the dirt at the top of the lane.
