DOMINGUEZ STABLE AFTER FRIDAY SPILL; HOSPITALIZED FOR OBSERVATION
OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Jockey Ramon Dominguez will spend the night under observation at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center after sustaining a bruised right eye in a Friday spill at Aqueduct Racetrack.
“He has a bruised eye, and they are going to observe him overnight,” said Sharon Dominguez, wife of the two-time Eclipse-winning jockey. “He’s stable and resting.”
At the conclusion of Friday’s card, Dominguez was second in the inner track jockey standings with 31 victories to apprentice Jose Ortiz’s 34 wins. Dominguez led all riders on the NYRA circuit in 2012 with 322 victories and led the nation in earnings with $25.6 million.
