$150,000 Florida Sunshine Millions Filly And Mares Sprint Quotes

Trainer Marty Wolfson (Golden Mystery): “She’s retiring and will be sold (Feb. 11 at Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Mixed Sale). Speak Easy Gal (Distaff entrant), too.

“I thought coming off that mile (Dec. 30), I knew she’d have the stamina. When they were going head and head, I knew she’d finish strong. I didn’t know she’d win off by six, but I knew she’d finish strong. And that race (second) to Dust and Diamonds (Dec. 8) was a good race.”


Jockey Luis Saez (Golden Mystery): "I knew I was going to win the race. This was the perfect weather for her because she has a problem sweating. She broke well and Mr. Wolfson told me to put her in a good position, second or third, and when (Emma's Encore) went out wide, it was my opportunity. Once she got in front it was easy, all I had to do was ask her."

Trainer Allen Jerkens (Emma's Encore): "Naturally we wanted to win and we were second best. We can't take it away from the winner who ran a big race. Emma's Encore closed as she usually does and we hope next time our number will come up. She has never run on this kind of track condition before, but it's always nice when you can finish in the money in a big race."
