$400,00 Holy Bull (G3) Quotes
Trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. (Itsmyluckyday): "Words can’t describe it. It’s something everybody should feel. Anybody in this game deserves to have this feeling. I wish them all to have this feeling sometime….just not today.
“We’ll see how he comes out of the race, but I’d lean toward the Florida Derby (March 3O). But he’s going to tell me what he wants to do. Then I’ll sit down with our partners and we’ll discuss it.
“It’s a 3-year-old. Everybody’s excited because of the Kentucky Derby. It’s hard not to get wrapped up in that.”
Jockey Elvis Trujillo (Itsmyluckyday): "I'm very thankful for Mr. Plesa, who gave me this
opportunity to ride Itsmyluckyday. This was a very fast trip with two horses out in front and us right behind. This was the trip Mr. Plesa and I hoped for."
Trainer Todd Pletcher (Shanghai Bobby): "The winner was very good today, we were second best. We got a good trip and didn't expect to break the track record by three-fifths of a second in order to win. I was happy. We got the trip we anticipated."
Jockey Rosie Napravnik (Shanghai Bobby): "He ran very well. He was relaxed on the lead and went right to the front today. When the other horse (Itsmyluckyday) came to him he tried really hard."
Trainer Dale Romans (Dewey Square): "He didn't like the dirt hitting him in the face and really got pelted with it. I know we have a good horse and we're just going to stay the course. We thought we could stalk the pace, but it really wasn't the trip so much as the dirt hitting him in the face which brought him back further than we wanted."
Trainer Kelly Breen (Bern Identity): “It’s disappointing. We put in a lot of hard work coming into this race and then it turns out it was all for naught because of the trouble right out of the gate. We’ll just go back to the drawing board and regroup.”
Trainer Ken McPeek (Frac Daddy): “He just didn’t run his race today. We were hoping for a better performance, but we’ll look him over and come up with a plan to move on from here.”
