MIAMI SPRINGS, FL - Racing in South Florida moves to Gulfstream Park West beginning Wednesday for the start of the 40-day Fall Turf Festival.

While the racing will take place at Gulfstream Park West, fans will be asked to spend their afternoons at Gulfstream Park to watch and wager on the races due to ongoing construction and a lack of amenities at Gulfstream Park West, formerly known as Calder Race Course.

"Our goal is to always make the customer comfortable and provide the best amenities," said P.J. Campo, General Manager of Gulfstream Park and Vice President of Racing for The Stronach Group. "Because of the ongoing construction at Gulfstream Park West - because the grandstand has been demolished - we can only provide limited self-service betting machines, no simulcast wagering and limited amenities. Our hope is bettors will continue coming to Gulfstream Park where we will continue providing simulcasting, full amenities and a comfortable, air conditioned environment with plenty of dining options at the track and at The Village at Gulfstream Park.

"We believe with the influx of northern horsemen, the Gulfstream Park West meet will provide great racing and full fields. The main track and turf course are both in the best shape that I have ever seen them.”

Gulfstream Park West will run Wednesday through Sunday as well Monday, Oct. 10 and Tuesday, Nov. 8. The stakes program will be highlighted Saturday, Nov. 26 by the $100,000 My Charmer (G3) and $100,000 Tropical Turf (G3).

The stakes schedule kicks off Saturday Nov. 5 with a pair of $75,000 turf stakes - the Showing Up for 3-year-olds and the Cellars Shiraz for 3-year-old fillies. Gulfstream West will hold Sunshine Millions Preview Day Saturday, Nov. 12 with seven, $100,000 stakes races including the Classic Preview, Turf Preview, Distaff and Sprint.
