AQUEDUCT, BELMONT CLOSED FOR SIMULCASTING MONDAY AND TUESDAY
ELMONT, N.Y. – Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack will be closed for simulcasting on Monday, October 29, and Tuesday, October 30 in anticipation of heavy rain and high winds as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Telebet and Internet wagering through NYRA Rewards also will be suspended on both days.
“The safety of NYRA’s patrons and employees is our paramount concern,” said NYRA President and Chief Operating Officer Ellen McClain. “Given the forecast, we’re taking every precaution to secure the facilities and minimize risk for all involved.”
With the conclusion of Belmont Park’s fall race meet on Sunday, there is no live racing is scheduled at either facility until opening day at Aqueduct on Friday, November 2.
