$29,875 CARRYOVER IN PICK SIX AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS FRIDAY
ALBANY -- Golden Gate Fields will present a seven-race card Friday and the program features four turf events and a Pick Six carryover of $29,875.
Post time is 12:45 p.m. and races one, three, five, and seven will all be contested on the Lakeside Turf Course. The first race is a 1 1/16-mile event for fillies and mares, the third is a one-mile test for 3-year-olds, the fifth is one-mile race for fillies and mares, and the seventh is a one-mile contest for 3-year-old fillies.
Correctly selecting five of the six winners was the best handicappers could do Thursday and those accomplishing that feat received a consolation payoff of $3,351.80.
Providing the major upsets in Thursday’s Pick Six sequence (races two through seven) were Kee Noodle ($22.20) in the fourth race and Kid Stuff ($35.20) in the seventh.
Kid Stuff’s win payoff was especially noteworthy since the gelding is trained by Hall of Famer Jerry Hollendorfer, whose horses are normally well-backed at the betting windows. Hollendorfer had a training double Thursday and his other winner – Nonsense ($13.00) in the third race – also paid handsomely.
Jockeys Russell Baze and Juan Hernandez both rode back-to-back winners Thursday. Baze captured the second race with Stroll for Us ($7.20) and the third with Nonsense. Hernandez won the sixth race with One Good Shark ($7.60) and the seventh with Kid Stuff.
