Abu Dhabi latest

A busy season on the Abu Dhabi turf continues on Sunday with a six race card highlighted by a 1600m Purebred Arabian handicap which has attracted a select field of seven.

Gill Duffield appears to hold the key to the race saddling two of the runners and El Rigoletto, who heads the weights under Tadhg O’Shea makes a lot of appeal as a probable winner.

Stable companion Royal Class is an interesting contender but it looks significant that O’Shea selects Duffield’s other runner.

With the Saifaldin Deeb team in such good form Rachidia has to be a threat but it is not easy to make a case for the remainder at the weights.

There is one Thoroughbred race on the card, a 1600m maiden, and it has attracted a maximum field of 12.

Mubarak Bin Shafya trains Al Wasl who looks certain to go close under Willie Supple in a race Satish Seemar is well represented.

On jockey bookings, Never Cry appears his main hope under Ted Durcan.

With the Ali Rashid Al Raihe team in such good form his Angelica Z has to be respected after a highly creditable effort in the trial race for the UAE 1000 Guineas on her last start.

Royston Ffrench takes the ride.

Erwan Charpy’s Contretemps is another to consider.
