AQUEDUCT NOTES, Saturday, Nov. 29,2008
The Maryland racing circuit has a history of producing quality jockeys who have moved on to successful careers in New York, notably Edgar Prado and Kent Desormeaux (both Hall of Famers), Mike Luzzi and Ramon Dominguez.
As racing at Aqueduct switches to the inner dirt track on Wednesday, among the new faces in New York this winter will be two additions from Maryland: Sheldon Russell, the leading rider at the current Laurel Park meet, and Rosie Napravnik, who are expected to move their tack to the Big A.
Apprentice jockey Maylan Studart will be the guest on Fox News Channel’s national cable show “FOX & Friends” on Monday morning, December 1, at 7:45 a.m. ET. Studart, who notched her first New York victory earlier in the meet, had seven winner’s heading into today’s card.

Aqueduct Racetrack will play host to the New York State Lottery today and tomorrow, November 29 and 30.
Operating in front of the NYRA Store on the second floor, clubhouse, the NYSL will have its Prize Wheel and Lottery PLINKO board set up for lucky patrons. Customers will get one spin for Lottery prizes each time they purchase $10 of Holiday instant tickets from the NYRA Store. Any customer who purchases $20 worth of Holiday instant tickets will receive one chip to drop into the PLINKO board.
The second race today has been named “New York Lottery’s Holiday Cashword.”

Gunnery Sergeant Alexander Mesa of the United States Marine Corps Reserves will be at Aqueduct next Saturday, December 6 from noon – 2 p.m. to represent USMCR’s annual Toys for Tots drive. He will be on the first floor clubhouse near the escalators, and will gladly accept new toys and cash donations.
For years, Major Chuck Kilbride represented the Marines at Aqueduct for the Toys for Tots drive. This year, he was deployed to Iraq.
