Aspiring Nick turns table on Bunker Hill in Dover Stakes

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE, October 11 - With Mario Pino astride, Aspiring Nick scored a hard fought nose victory to turn the tables on his nemesis Bunker Hill, with Jose Lezcano, in the $75,000 Dover Stakes at Delaware Park today. The 8-to-5 favorite in the field of seven, Ask Joe ridden by Rafael Mojica, finished third nearly 3 ¼-lengths behind the top two.

In their previous two meetings, Bunker Hill defeated Aspiring Neck with the most recent being a hard fought head victory in the $100,000 Go for the Green Stakes at Delaware Park on September 13.

Aspiring Nick covered the mile and a sixteenth in 1:47.00 over a fast main track and returned $7.60. The Florida-bred trained Timothy James Kelly raised his career mark to two victories from five outings with earnings of $86,770. The son of Graeme Hall is owned by Daniel Ljoka.
