BAZE COMPLETES BIG WEEKEND AT GGF WITH FOUR-VICTORY AFTERNOON

ALBANY -- Jockey Russell Baze completed a very successful weekend at Golden Gate Fields by riding four winners Sunday at the East Bay racetrack.

Baze rode three winners Friday and had a riding double Saturday that included a victory in the $100,000 Campanile Stakes aboard Best Present Ever.

In recording his four-bagger Sunday, Baze scored with three heavy favorites – Lucy Wiggles ($3.40) in the second race, Curvy Cat ($2.80) in the fourth, and Beyond Blessed ($3.60) in the sixth – and 9-2 third choice Cruzin the Harbor ($11.80) in the eighth.

Baze, who is cruising to his 42nd career riding title at Golden Gate Fields, tops the jockey standings with 176 victories through 93 days of racing at the 2011-2012 winter/spring meeting. Aaron Gryder is second with 103 wins.

Racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Thursday. Post time is 1:15 p.m.
