Breeders’ Cup Flash News, Wednesday, Nov. 4

* California Flag, morning-line favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, lost his exercise rider after a schooling session at the starting gate near the three-quarter pole and ran off the wrong way on the track before being caught near the entrance to the barn area at the quarter-mile chute by jockey Aaron Gryder on the ground.

Exercise rider Colleen Hartford and California Flag both returned none the worse for wear from the incident, according to trainer Brian Koriner.

* Wednesday Workouts:

Santa Anita: Free Flying Soul – 3f in 38 1/5; Rainbow View – 3f in 36 4/5; Chocolate Candy – 5f in 1:00 2/5.
