CONTROL SEEKER DOMINATES ON GOLDEN GATE FIELDS TURF
ALBANY -- Control Seeker took command from pacesetter Photo Shopped entering the stretch and went on to score an impressive 3 1/4-length victory in the $35,281 turf feature at Golden Gate Fields Saturday.
Control Seeker, ridden by Francisco Duran, won the 1 1/16-mile allowance race in 1:44.40 and paid $6.40 as the second betting choice in a field of six. Duke of Doom, the 8-5 favorite, took second by 1 1/2 lengths over Where’s the Remote.
Owned by Edward and Theresa DeNike, Control Seeker has eight wins in 34 career starts and $282,737 in earnings.
Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Sunday and Monday, Labor Day.
Post time Sunday is 1:15 p.m. and Golden Gate Fields is offering $1 general parking, $1 general admission, $1 hot dogs, $1 beers and $1 sodas. The free summer concert series continues with Love Fool performing on the Trackside Stage.
Fans attending the races on Labor Day will receive a free Golden Gate Fields baseball cap and also have the opportunity to watch Dachshunds compete in the Wiener Nationals. Post time Monday is 1:15 p.m.
