Danceinthesunlight Sells for $675,000 On Thursday at Keeneland
Lexington, KY (November 6, 2008) – Southern Equine Stables paid $675,000 for Danceinthesunlight, in foal to Forest Wildcat, to highlight Thursday’s session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
Consigned by Anderson Farms, agent for Sam-Son Farm, Danceinthesunlight is an unraced three-year-old daughter of A. P. Indy out of Canadian champion Dancethruthedawn. She is from the family of U.S. and Canadian champion Dance Smartly and Grade 1 stakes winner and sire Smart Strike.
Gross receipts for Thursday’s session totaled $16,556,000, down 41.4 percent from the $28,275,000 posted last year. The session average of $82,368 was down 30.7 percent from $118,803 recorded in 2007, while the median of $65,000 was down 29.7 percent from last year’s $92,500. A total of 201 horses were sold this year compared to 238 in 2007.
Following four days of selling, gross sales totaled $131,281,000, down 47.4 percent from $249,412,000 in 2007. Average was down 36.3 percent from $284,717 to $181,327. The median of $100,000 was down 33.3 percent from $150,000 recorded last year.
A weanling colt by Indian Charlie out of the A. P. Indy mare Fapindy brought the day’s third-highest price of $370,000 from Gabriel Duignan’s Foxtale Farm. The colt was consigned by Highclere Sales, agent.
Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale continues through Monday, November 17. Sessions begin at 10 a.m. daily.
