Double delight at Jebel Ali for Seemar and Moore
Satish Seemar and Ryan Moore were in double form at Jebel Ali on Friday afternoon with Ibn Al Nafis taking pride of place after running out the emphatic winner of the featured 1600m handicap.
The four year-old has now won all his three starts and could well be Meydan bound after his facile victory and Moore was impressed: "He is a nice horse and could have a bright future. He definitely deserves a step up in class."
Moore added: "He has done that very well and will hopefully improve from that."
Also making a winning local debut was the Ali Rashid Al Raihe-trained Yirga who won the concluding 1200m handicap under Royston Ffrench who said: "That was very pleasing as he will definitely stay further."
Tadhg O'Shea was another jockey in double form and landed the opening 1600m handicap on As Mushrif for Gill Duffield whose team have been in great form in recent weeks.
The jockey said: "He travels strongly and has run on strongly up the hill. He deserved to get his head back in front after some solid efforts in defeat."
He completed his double on Doug Watson's Alwaabel who was winning for the first time when landing the 1400m handicap to the delight of his trainer who said: "He has been running well and hopefully, now he has won one, he can get some confidence and win again."
Richard Hills and Erwan Charpy combined to win the 1800m handicap with Mutajammel who was recording a fourth career success.
