FASIG-TIPTON TO SPONSOR FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino proudly announced today Fasig-Tipton, North American’s oldest Thoroughbred auction firm, will sponsor the Feb. 26 $400,000 Fountain of Youth (G2).
The ‘Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth,’ a major 3-year-old prep on the road to the May 7 Kentucky Derby (G1) and a qualifying race for the historic Preakness 5.5 bonus, will be contested just days before Fasig-Tipton’s world-renowned Selected 2-year-olds In Training sale at Gulfstream’s Palm Meadows training facility, in Palm Beach County.
The Fasig-Tipton Florida sale is a market leader and attracts the sport’s top horsemen from around the world. For many years the sale has generated the highest gross revenue and average price among the major select sales of 2-year-olds in training. More stakes-winning graduates have been sold at this auction than any other currently-operating 2-year-olds in training sale.
“Fasig-Tipton is an industry leader when it comes to selling top-class stakes winners and running an auction program with integrity and credibility,” said Steve Calabro, President and GM at Gulfstream. “It seems only fitting that this historic, top-class race should have a top-class sponsor.”

The Fountain of Youth, contested at 1 1/8th mile, has a storied history. Those who have won the Fountain of Youth and the Kentucky Derby include Fasig-Tipton sales graduates Kauai King, Unbridled and Go For Gin as well as Spectacular Bid, Thunder Gulch, Tim Tam, Pleasant Colony, Swale and Iron Liege.
