HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park announced this afternoon a quarantine had been lifted to one barn at the track and four others at its training facility at Palm Meadows.

An unidentified horse from the barn of trainer Jonathan Sheppard showed symptoms of possible neurological problems Wednesday afternoon prompting the quarantine. But a blood sample and nasal swab tested negative Thursday for EHV-1.

“We took swift action to test the samples in the interest of the horses,” said Gulfstream President and GM Steve Calabro. “We’re glad the test came back negative and the quarantine was lifted.”
