HOLLENDORFER HAS TRAINING TRIPLE AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS
ALBANY -- Jerry Hollendorfer increased his lead in the Golden Gate Fields trainer standings by sending out three winners Sunday.
Hollendorfer won the second race with Rosemount Lad ($4.80), the seventh with Lovely Daughter ($5.20), and the eighth with Gotnaceupersleeve ($15.20). “The Dorf” leads his colleagues with nine victories through six days of racing at the 17-day summer meeting.
The apprentice Orozco teamed with Hollendorfer for the wins with Rosemount Lad and Gotnaceupersleeve. Von Rosen won the fifth race with What a Rush ($12.80) and the ninth with Toughtoconvince ($17.00). Baze scored in back-to-back races, taking the sixth race with First Time John ($6.60) and the seventh with Lovely Daughter ($5.20).
Jockey Julien Couton extended his streak of winning at least one race a day at the summer meeting when he captured the first race with Loveintheshadows ($5.00). Couton tops the jockey standings with 10 victories.
Racing will resume Friday at Golden Gate Fields with a Happy Hour program that will feature half-price admission, food and drink specials, and live music between races. Post time for the seven-race card is 3:45 p.m.
