HRTV On-site at Laurel Park for Jim McKay Maryland Million Day This Saturday

Laurel, MD, Sept. 22 -- HRTV (TM) will continue its annual Fall sojourn to Maryland when it once again provides on-site coverage of the 24th annual Jim McKay Maryland Million Day from Laurel Park this Saturday, September 26.

HRTV's Scott Hazelton and Caton Bredar will be at Laurel to anchor the network's full-day coverage of Jim McKay Maryland Million Day, a popular annual staple on the racing calendar, which features 12 stakes races and $1.23 million in total purse money for Maryland-sired horses.

First post for Million Day is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. ET/9:15 a.m. PT.

With a busy day of racing on tap, Hazelton and Bredar will offer the latest developments, and news, involving the
stakes-filled program. In addition, they will offer pre- and post-race analysis, as well as interviews with many prominent personalities surrounding the card.

"We're always pleased to be involved in a wonderful day of racing," said Amy J. Zimmerman, executive producer for HRTV. "Maryland Million Ltd. and the Maryland Jockey Club always combine for a top-class event, and it's fitting that a great day now carries the legendary Jim McKay's name. It's our pleasure to bring it to fans across the country."

Jim McKay Million Day, appropriately dubbed "Maryland Day at the Races," is the second biggest day of racing in the state, topped only by the prestigious Preakness Stakes. The unique day was created by McKay, a staunch racing advocate, in 1986 and the concept has spawned similar formats at racetracks across the country.

A total of 186 horses have been pre-entered, with the headline event, the $200,000 Maryland Classic, having drawn a possible field of 12, including last year's winner, Cuba.
