JANUARY SCHEDULE PREVIEW

January racing is underway at Tampa Bay Downs with five live Thoroughbred racing days a week. Dark days are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the exception of a bonus live racing day on Wednesday, January 21.

Tampa Bay Downs rings in the New Year with Skyway Festival Day on January 17th, in which the bright three-year-old stars of the Oldsmar oval compete in the $65,000 Gasparilla Stakes for fillies and the $75,000 Pasco Stakes for colts and geldings.


January 24th is Cap Giveaway Day, with a free Tampa Bay Downs cap with paid admission while supplies last. Jockeys will be on hand in the first floor Grandstand throughout the day to sign autographs and answer fans’ questions. On January 25th, Tampa Bay Downs will host the first Family Fiesta Day of the year in the Tampa Bay Downs Backyard. The themed afternoon will feature free Latin-themed entertainment and personalities, pony rides, games and more from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Roll Back the Prices Day returns on January 31, featuring $1.00 beer, $1.00 Nathan’s Hot Dogs and $1.00 soda. These items are offered between the hours of 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm in concession stands trackwide.

Racing resumes Tuesday, January 6 with a ten race card; the Pick 6 carryover is $5,341.21. The Silks Poker room is open daily from 12:30 PM through 12:30 AM, and The Downs Golf Practice Facility is open on Mondays from 10:00 AM through 10:00 PM and on Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 AM through 10:00 PM.
