OLDSMAR, Fla. (March 20, 2009) Trainer Forrest Kaelin escorted two of his charges to the Winner’s Circle today, and Hilton Garden Inn Jockey of the Month Carlos M. Cruz rode three winners on the afternoon’s eleven race program. Kaelin got his first victory with Prince David, a three-year-old Crimson Classic gelding owned by Betty Kaelin and ridden to victory by Jesse Garcia. Kaelin teamed up with Carlos Cruz to notch his second win of the day; the duo scored with So Very Irish, a Stravinsky gelding carrying the colors of Davis V. Hall.

In addition to his victory aboard So Very Irish, Cruz enjoyed a win with Diligent One. The nine-year-old Diligence gelding was bred in Florida by owner Artz Racing and is trained by Deborah Artz. Cruz rounded out his hat trick aboard Marquet Cat, a four-year-old Florida-bred Tale of the Cat gelding. Marquet Cat is conditioned by Tony Wilson for owner/breeder Patricia Generazio.

Racing resumes tomorrow, March 21 with an eleven race card; there is a Pick 6 carryover of $5,509.08. The Silks Poker Room is open daily from 12:30 PM through 12:30 AM, and The Downs Golf Practice Facility is open on Mondays from 10:00 AM through 10:00 PM and on Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 AM through 10:00 PM.
