KEENELAND CLOSING DAYS FEATURE MIX OF LIVE RACING and BREEDERS’ CUP SIMULCAST

Fans on hand for the final two days of Keeneland’s 2008 fall meeting will enjoy full cards featuring both live racing and simulcasts of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

On Friday, Keeneland will conduct nine live races intermingled with simulcasts of five Breeders’ Cup stakes for fillies and mares, highlighted by undefeated Zenyatta’s bid in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic.


Post time for Keeneland’s first live race on Friday is 1:10 p.m.; the first Breeders’ Cup race will go off at 3:35 p.m.

Post time for Keeneland’s first live race on Saturday has been changed to 12:55 p.m. ET, 15 minutes earlier than previously scheduled.

Keeneland will run seven live races on Saturday, closing with the $150,000 Fayette (G3), a 1 1/8-mile race for three-year-olds and older horses. Post time for the Fayette is 4:50 p.m.

Keeneland will simulcast all nine Breeders’ Cup stakes on Saturday, beginning at 1:10 p.m. The day culminates with the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at 6:45 p.m.

Advance wagering will be available on Friday for Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup card. Drive-thru wagering will be available both Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


KEENELAND TO TELEVISE SATURDAY’S UK-FLORIDA GAME

Keeneland will televise Saturday’s UK - Florida football game on its infield LED board and on monitors throughout the track. The game kicks off at 12:30 p.m.


UL COACH RICK PITINO BOOK SIGNING FEATURED ON SATURDAY

University of Louisville basketball coach and Thoroughbred owner Rick Pitino and ESPN.com columnist Pat Forde will be on hand Saturday to sign copies of their book, Rebound Rules: The Art of Success 2.0. The signing will begin at 11 a.m. outside The Keeneland Gift Shop.


CLOSING DAY SPECIAL EVENTS

Saturday, October 25 – Breakfast With the Works – Bring the family out for Breakfast With the Works, from 7 – 8:30 a.m. Enjoy a Southern-style breakfast and free children’s activities. This Saturday, Asbury Equine will give a demonstration in the paddock at 8:45 a.m.

Saturday, October 25 — Handicapping Seminar – Listen to expert handicappers trackside each Saturday during the meet, beginning at 11:30 a.m.


KEENELAND NOVEMBER BREEDING STOCK SALE BEGINS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3

With the conclusion of the fall race meeting, Keeneland turns its attention to the sale arena, kicking off its 65th annual November Breeding Stock Sale on Monday, November 3.

Keeneland has cataloged a record 5,709 horses for the 15-day sale, the largest auction of its kind in the world. The sale runs through Monday, November 17, with sessions beginning at 10 a.m. daily.
