Keeneland sponsors Thursday’s meeting

The final Winter Racing Challenge meeting takes place this Thursday at Nad Al Sheba, and sees the exciting addition of turf races for the first time since the start of the 2008 – 2009 season.

Kindly sponsored by Keeneland, a global racetrack and thoroughbred auction company, this Thursday’s meeting allows local horses to enhance their ratings so as to potentially qualify for the up-coming 2009 Dubai International Racing Carnival.

Dubai Racing Club CEO Frank Gabriel Jr said: “The curtain will come down this Thursday as Nad Al Sheba sees its final fixture of the Winter Racing Challenge before Meydan takes form.

“We are excited and look forward to what lies ahead, as we have seen the Winter Racing Challenge shape into a definitive racing feature.

“This would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, and we are extremely grateful to our long-term partners Keeneland for their valued and continued support of racing at Nad Al Sheba.”

W.B. Rogers Beasley, Director of Racing: “Keeneland is delighted to sponsor racing here in Dubai and is proud to be the longest international sponsor at Nad Al Sheba.

“Horse racing is a tremendous way to bridge gaps in international relations”.

Thursday’s card is set to begin at 7pm and there are a number of hospitality options available to suit all tastes and budgets in both the Millennium Grandstand and the Maktoum Grandstand.

Entrance to the public area of the racecourse is free of charge and there are also complimentary transfers to and from Nad Al Sheba from Dubai Marina (by Spinneys), Arabian Ranches (Shopping complex), Wafi (in front of Pyramids) and Emirates Towers (Boulevard entrance by Cartier).

Buses will leave at 6.00pm from these locations, and return departures will be at 10pm from the racecourse.
