Legal Move Sells for $245,000 on Saturday at Keeneland

Lexington, KY (November 15, 2008) – Legal Move, a four-year-old son of Bold Executive, sold as a racing or stallion prospect, brought $245,000 to highlight Saturday’s session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Canadian Bruno Schickedanz bought the colt, who is a stakes winner at Woodbine. He was consigned by Lane’s End, agent.

Moon Bloodstock paid $75,000, the day’s second-highest price, for a weanling filly by Tapit out of the stakes-winning Silver Deputy mare Princess Willow. She was consigned by Shawhan Place LLC, agent for Sagamore Overlook.

On Saturday, Keeneland sold 242 horses for gross receipts of $2,257,800, up 5.3 percent from 2007 when 202 horses brought $2,143,900. The average of $9,330 was down 12.1 percent from last year’s $10,613, while the median of $5,250 was down 23.4 percent compared to $6,850 in 2007.

Cumulatively, Keeneland has sold 2,680 horses for $183,643,800, down 45.8 percent from $338,771,400 for 3,098 horses in 2007. Average decreased 37.3 percent from $109,352 to $68,524. The median of $25,000 was down 37.5 percent from $40,000 recorded last year.

Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale continues through Monday. Sessions begin at 10 a.m. daily.
