East Rutherford, NJ [Nov. 15, 2008] - Oggies Way wore down the pacesetter in the final strides to win the $51,000 featured seventh race allowance on closing night of the 2008 Thoroughbred Meet at the Meadowlands.

Ridden by Victor Santiago, Oggies Way stalked Defrerest Of All into the stretch and edged clear in the final furlong to take the mile and 70-yard event in 1:43 over a sloppy track. He paid $12.80, $7.00 and $3.60. Red Planet rallied between horses to finish a neck behind in second. Rolled Up narrowly beat out Defrerest Of All for the show spot.

Oggies Way notched his fourth win in 23 career starts and surpassed $125,000 in earnings. Ben Perkins trains the 4-year-old Unbridled Jet gelding for James MacCormack.

Lezcano also won the 2006 title, while Servis captured his third title in four years [2005, 2006 and 2008]. Repole Stable and Ed Broome tied for leading owner with 10 wins.
