PICK SIX CARRYOVER OF $55,584 INTO FRIDAY
ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2012)—Chalk was in short supply at Santa Anita on Thursday, resulting in a Pick Six carryover into Friday of $55,584. It is expected Friday’s total Pick Six pool could exceed $350,000.
Friday’s Pick Six will cover races three through eight. Post time for race three is 2:02 p.m.
Barring any late scratches, average field size in Friday’s Pick Six is 9.5 runners per race.
Cat in the Forest could be singled on a number of tickets, as he is the solid 2-1 morning line favorite in leg one, the third race. Claimed out of his last two starts (a win and a second) for $20,000, Cat in the Forest goes for the first time for trainer Bob Hess on Friday and will be ridden by Joel Rosario.
Trainer Mike Mitchell will send out the consistent 7-year-old gelding Muny in race seven. Owned by Belmonte, Cohen, Featherstone, and partner, Muny will be ridden by Joe Talamo and is the 2-1 morning line favorite.
Santa Anita will present a special $250,000 guaranteed LUCK Pick Six on Saturday, Sunshine Millions Day that carries a mandatory payout provision. Accordingly, if Friday’s Pick Six carries over, that pool would be carried to Sunday.
First post time on Friday is 1 p.m. For more racing information, including Friday’s complete eight-race morning line, visit http://www.santaanita.com.
