PREAKNESS STAKES BETTING BEGINS FRIDAY AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS
Golden Gate Fields will accept wagers on Saturday’s 137th running of the Preakness Stakes during its live racing program Friday afternoon and also during its morning and nighttime simulcast programs.
Post time for the first race at Golden Gate Fields is 1:15 p.m., however, admission gates open at 10 a.m. for fans wishing to bet via simulcast on action from Belmont Park, Pimlico, Woodbine, Louisiana Downs, and Chuchill Downs. Following its live racing card, Golden Gate Fields will remain open for simulcast wagering on night racing from Hollywood Park and Los Alamitos.
The Preakness field, in post position order, is as follows: Tiger Walk, Kent Desormeaux rides, 30-1 on the morning line; Teeth of the Dog, Joe Bravo, 15-1; Pretension, Javier Santiago, 30-1; Zetterholm, Junior Alvarado, 20-1; Went the Day Well, John Velazquez, 6-1; Creative Cause, Joel Rosario, 6-1; Bodemeister, Mike Smith, 8-5; Daddy Nose Best, Garrett Gomez, 12-1; I’ll Have Another, Mario Gutierrez, 5-2; Optimizer, Corey Nakatani, 30-1; and Cozzetti, Jose Lezcano, 30-1.
Fans attending Golden Gate Fields Friday will have the opportunity to play the Pimlico Special-Preakness Stakes Double, a $2 bet that challenges handicappers to pick the winner of Friday’s $300,000 Pimlico Special and Saturday’s $1 million Preakness. Post time for the Pimlico Special is 2:51 p.m.
