OLDSMAR, Fla. (January 24, 2009) A crowd of 7,514 fans flocked to Tampa Bay Downs for today’s Cap Giveaway Day, during which conditioner Bernell Rhone had two winners and jockey Daniel Centeno piloted home three horses to victory.

Rhone took home his first win of the day with Payyourtax, a five-year-old son of Artax owned by Barbara Rehbein and Cindy Rhone and piloted by Luis Antonio Gonzalez. Rhone returned to the Winner’s Circle with Onotheregoestokyo, a six-year-old Storm Creek gelding owned by Bill Lethert and Tom Metzen and ridden by Dean Butler.

Jockey Daniel Centeno’s first winner on today’s program came with Al Nasr Dream, an Irish-bred daughter of Marju (IRE) under the care of conditioner Eddie Kenneally for owner Our Stromboli Farm. Centeno stuck again in the featured seventh race, the Endeavour Prep. Contested over 1 1/16 miles on the lawn, the Endeavour prep attracted nine older fillies and mares on the trail to the Grade III $125,000 Endeavour Stakes, to be run on February 14. Centeno piloted American Border, a five-year-old Boundry mare, to her fourth consecutive victory for owner Mr. Amore Stables and trainer Jason Servis. American Border’s last win was in the Grade III Violet Stakes; the mare has earned over $273,000 in her nine lifetime victories.

Centeno haltered his third win aboard Frank C. Calabrese’s Snowboard Ridge. The three-year-old Snow Ridge colt was bred in Florida by Manuel Andrade and is trained by Rick Slomkowski,

The Lambholm South Race of the week was captured by Make My Day, a four-year-old Florida-bred Gulf Storm gelding owned by Linda Murphy, trained by Edward Wallace and ridden to victory by Huber Villa-Gomez.
