ROSEMARY HOMEISTER, JR. CELEBRATES 2000TH WIN
OLDSMAR, Fla. (December 18, 2008) Rosemary Homeister, Jr. booted home Rustyshouldrun for her 2000th career victory today at the Oldsmar oval. Homeister, who ended her inaugural season last year at Tampa Bay Downs as the second leading rider, said of her milestone win, “It felt like it took forever to get that last win! I can’t even explain the feeling – it’s like winning your first race!” Homeister, who was met with congratulations from fans and horsemen alike after her win, said that she doesn’t plan on resting on he laurels for the upcoming Tampa meet. “I’m currently the third leading female rider in the country, and I’m only behind P. J. Cooksey a hundred thirty-something wins. My next goal is to be second leading female rider in the country… but I don’t know if I’ll ever catch Julie Krone! I’m just so grateful and happy to be back here in Tampa. I love it here, and I’m hoping to have another great season.”
Tampa Bay Downs will be releasing the daily Stewards’ Reports and Rulings on its website, http://www.tampabaydowns.com under the Horsemen’s Information section in order to keep the public current on all rulings, fines and applicable information.
Racing resumes tomorrow, December 19 with a ten race card; the Pick 6 carryover is $3,801.77. The Silks Poker room is open daily from 12:30 PM through 12:30 AM; the Downs Golf Practice Facility is open on Mondays from 10:00 AM through 10:00 PM and on Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 AM through 10:00 PM.
