STREAKIN’ MOHICAN SETS TURF COURSE RECORD
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (April 28, 2012)—Making his first start for new connections after being claimed Feb. 25, Streakin’ Mohican established a course record for six furlongs on turf Saturday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Quickly establishing command under jockey Rafael Bejarano, the 5-year-old gelded son of Songandaprayer was never menaced and won by 5 ¼ lengths.
The victory was the eighth in 29 starts for the Florida bred, who was the 17-10 favorite in the $32,000 claimer, the seventh of 10 races.
Now 2-for-3 over the Betfair Hollywood Park grass, Streakin’ Mohican was claimed once more Saturday. Trainer Wilton Whitehouse took the chestnut for owner Robert Rosette.
