Sweet Hope defeats older fillies and mares in Endine Stakes

In her first test against older horses, High Bank Syndicate's Sweet Hope was victorious in the $200,000 Grade III Endine Stakes at Delaware Park today.

Ridden by Gabriel Saez, the 3-year-old daughter of Lemon Drop Kid posted a half length victory and returned $5.20 as the favorite in the field of eight. Cash's Girl, with Pablo Morales astride, finished second. It was another 1 ½-lengths back to Hungarian Boatbaby, with Kent Desormeaux, in third.

Sweet Hope covered the six furlongs in 1:10.07 over a sealed sloppy track. This was the second career stake victory for the Kentucky-bred trained by J. Larry Jones. On June 23, she won the six furlong $55,000 Beautiful Day Stakes. She improved her career record to four wins from 12 starts with earnings of $242,209.
