TOP HORSES SCHEDULED TO RUN AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

ALBANY -- Several talented horses will be in action this week at Golden Gate Fields when the track presents racing Wednesday through Sunday. Post time each day is 12:45 p.m.

Irish-bred Artiste Royal, a multiple Grade I stakes winner, is scheduled to run in the third race Friday. Trained by Neil Drysdale, Artiste Royal will face six rivals in a 1 1/16-mile allowance race on the Lakeside Turf Course.

Artiste Royal will be making his first start since winning the Grade 1 Charlie Whittingham Handicap at Hollywood Park on June 7. A consistent 7-year-old ridgling, Artiste Royal has finished in the money in 18 of his 25 career starts while earning $773,990.

Wild Promises, a winner of four straight stakes, heads a very strong field of nine fillies and mares in Friday's seventh race, a one-mile allowance test on the turf. Wild Promises is trained by Greg Gilchrist, who will also send out multiple stakes-winner Victorina in the race.

Wild Promises has 10 wins, four seconds and a third in 15 career starts and $323,950 in earnings. Victorina has won 12 of her 22 lifetime starts and $573,875. Both distaffers race for the Estate of Harry J. Aleo.

Saturday's card will feature the $75,000 Sausalito Stakes, a six-furlong dash for 3-year-olds and up. Entries for the Sausalito will be taken Wednesday and Gilchrist said he may have his 3-year-old fillies High Resolve and Indyanne tackle the boys in the feature.

"I'm definitely going to run one of them and I might run them both," said Gilchrist.

High Resolve is a four-time stakes winner who has amassed six victories, a second and a third in eight career starts. Indyanne is 5-for-6 lifetime and owns three stakes victories. Indyanne had a poor start when running second in the Victory Ride Stakes at Saratoga in her lone defeat.

Bamaha Breeze, a 3-year-old colt who is undefeated in four career starts, will make his stakes debut in the Sausalito. Bamaha Breeze is trained by Steve Miyadi.
