TRAINERS GERALD BENNETT AND ROY LERMAN WIN TWO


OLDSMAR, Fla. (May 8, 2011) Trainers Gerald Bennett and Roy Lerman celebrated two wins each on today’s Closing Day card at Tampa Bay Downs.

Gerald Bennett had his first victory of the day with Rock It; the five-year-old Eavesdropper gelding is owned by Winnign Stables and Ray Rech and was ridden by Mike Allen. Bennett scored again with Irish Lion, this time for owner Caesar Nieves with Ronnie Allen, J. in the irons.


Roy Lerman got both of his victories came with Hilton Garden Inn Jockey of the Month Carlos Montalvo. The conditioner took his first trip to the Winner’s Circle with Grandma; the three-year-old Grand Slam was bred in Kentucky by Sun Valley Partners and carried the colors of owner Constance Wickes to victory. Lerman won again with Congotown, a five-year-old Speightstown mare owned by Lerman’s Lambholm South.
